You should know that there are many rules and guidelines that you have to meet just to be considered eligible to join the FBI. First you have to be a resident of the United States or the Northern Mariana islands and be available to travel to any of the jurisdictions covered by the bureau.
By travel, they mean just about anywhere in the world. So, if you have objections to living in Siberia or Iran you should consider new career plans. To become and FBI agent you must be between 23 and 37 years old. You have to be in good shape and pass a physical to prove it.
If you meet those initial requirements you have to choose between four entrance programs, which are law, language, accounting and diversified.
Typically, most potential agents qualify under the diversified program. This is because it doesn’t require specialized education or training. Only those with a law degree can qualify for the law department.
The accounting department works the same way. You must have a CPA or take the exam to qualify. To join the language program you must be fluent in any of the foreign languages specified by the bureau.
